Where can I place an Orb?
The Orb has been designed to fit the legal status of a caravan and may be
positioned on any land that has attained planning permission for a holiday
caravan or elsewhere where a holiday caravan is sited and needs to be replaced.
The Orb may be purchased as a replacement home on an existing caravan park or
for a specific development of Orb holiday homes - more details of these will be
provided as they come available.
Can I place an Orb in my garden or curtilage*?
Yes, as long as long as it is related to the occupation of the main dwelling.
We would however strongly advice that you visit your local planning authority
for confirmation. The Orb can be installed in a matter of days and requires
only hardcore footings below each foot - no expensive foundations are needed.
(*Curtilage is the physical enclosure of land surrounding a house)
Why is the Orb oval in shape?
Its oval shape means the roof, walls and floors are part of one integral
chassis, creating this unique living space that is also superbly energy
efficient. The elliptical shape gives the structure its intrinsic strength, as
an oval is far stronger than a box.
What is included in the price?
The price when quoted in the Price List is the ex-works price, meaning the
price of the Orb holiday home at our factory gates. You will need to arrange
and pay for transport to your land and arrange for the holiday home to be
commissioned on site. Our team can provide a quotation and arrange for the
transport of your holiday home to your site and the commissioning of it. We can
advise you on the best interior layout for your requirements and suggest how
you could benefit from options such as climate control and a range of interior
finishes.
Can I specify the external finish?
Yes. The Orb is supplied with a standard exterior finish, which consists of
high quality manufactured wood timber slats installed with hidden fixings.
This manufactured wood is both long lasting (over 25 years) and is
environmentally friendly and sustainable. Other timbers are available at extra
cost. If, however, you do not like a wood clad finish we can clad the exterior
with several graphic finishes, examples of which will be available at
the initial consultation.
How many interior finishes are available?
The Orb comes with a choice of four interior finishes. However, bespoke interior
finishes can be accomodated at an additional cost.
Can the Orb be used by the mobility impaired?
Yes. Being so open plan makes it easy for wheelchair users to move around,
although a wheelchair user may require some modifications to be made and a
ramp added. Please contact our team with your requirements.
Will it last?
Yes it should last a lifetime. The Orb is constructed using the most advanced
marine technology, to create an extremely durable and lightweight structure.
So, like boats, it is incredibly strong and weatherproof - ideal for coastal
locations, where it will withstand extreme weather conditions much better than
the traditional park home.
The Orb is designed and manufactured to facilitate easy refurnishing and
refitting during its lifespan, therefore extending its life expectancy.
Does the Orb meet Building Regulations?
No, it doesn't need too, but will however be built as close to the stringent requirements of British
Standards BS/EN 1647 or BS/EN 3632. The Orb will be inspected by the National
Caravan Council (NCC) to ensure that it does conform to these standards.
Can I get finance?
Yes. Finance can be arranged.
Can I have an Orb as a houseboat?
Yes, if you wish - a houseboat is not regarded as a permanent "building" or
dwelling. When an Orb is used as a houseboat it still falls within the
definition of a caravan - strange but true! We would again strongly advise
that you visit your local planning authority or waterway authority for
conformation. You'll also need an approved mooring with services. If you'd
like to explore this option, please do get in touch as we are very interested
in developing the Orb houseboat!
How secure is an Orb?
The Orb has been developed to ensure excellent security standards, with walls
that are 40mm thick, and constructed from a unique sandwich of GRP materials.
All windows and doors are toughened
double-glazed. All Locks conform to BS 3621 to ensure compliance with most
insurance companies requirements.
Does the Orb come with a warranty?
All Orbs are designed and will be manufactured with at least a 50-year life
expectancy, and will be backed up by a peace of mind 5-year structural warranty
dependant on usage and manufacturer's guidlines, which covers the floors, walls
and roof of your Orb.
How soon can I get my Orb?

mail@theorb.biz for a quotation and delivery
schedule or call 0207 422 7501 to discuss your requirements
we will be more than happy to put you on our database and mail you our
